Challenge
Ensuring Revenue Protection for key or high valued consumers is one of the key activities for any Utility, Meter Data Analysis of the high value consumers provided valuable insights for Utility in usage patterns, events, tampers etc. Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) had installed meters over the period from different meter manufacturers, having different communication ports, Protocols which could be read by specific CMRI.
The Meter Data Downloaded could only be viewed in the software provided by meter manufacturers with limited options and storage features. The software provided by meter manufacturers varied with supplies and eventually JVVNL had to deal with numerous versions, compatibility issues, non-availability of historical data, data in silos etc.
Solution
Web based bSmart MDM solution was deployed and configured addressing the needs of JVVNL. Meter Data Acquisition services were provided for all the high value consumers of Jaipur City, where in complete meter data was acquired within first three calendar days of every month. The acquired meter data was transferred to bSMART MDM where the data was parsed and converted into a common data format and pushed into RDBMS and made available over the Web Based interface to all the stake holders for viewing and further analysis.
bSMART MDM provided a 360-degree view of meter data including meter events, tampers, complete load profile etc., The Validating Editing Estimating rules enabled the stakeholders to gain valuable insights into meter data acquired, along with providing them tools for validation, editing and estimation. Various reports were generated based on the meter data analysis which ensured the revenue protection and enabled DISCOM both in prevention and recovery of income.
